apples (half baked)

these apples were left on a patio to mature., but it seems that they suffered exposure to an exceptionally hot sun.  from the burn sites I calculate that this occurred at about 3pm BST (British summer time, equivalent to 2pm GMT/Greenwich Mean Time)
