Devon Longhouse

I'm back in Devon again at my mother's extraordinary home. She lives in it alone, at 90 years of age, and she maintains that all the walking from one end to the other helps to keep her fit. The steep staircases, uneven floors and low oak beams combine to make this house a death trap. Unlike everyone else, Mum can navigate around it safely with her eyes shut, so I think I will be visiting here for years to come!
