A terrific day in Bordeaux, starting with an infiltration of the local manifestation of a national day of demonstrations against the proposed reforms of labour laws by President Macron. I had a good chat with this group of pensioners from an aerospace company protesting about threats to their pensions.

Next, a visit to the Musee des Arts Contemporain in a splendid former warehouse near the river.

Then a tram ride and long walk to the Base Sous-Marine - a former Nazi U-Boat base. It certainly was a place where something strange had happened. I enjoyed the colourful street art, waterside development, former dock cranes and handsome geese.
