Space Walking

I (Annie) had a gentler transition back to work today post-holiday. I was visiting IBM at their UK headquarters in Hursley, Hampshire. We're arranging an event hosted by them in October, so we were there for a pre-meet and look around.

The mansion house at Hursley is amazing - full of carved marble and wood panelling. Housed here is IBM's museum of technologies - so funny to see how things used to be not so long ago. In contrast to the ancient, the blip shows our brief visit to the Emerging Technology Centre, with Eva trying out the virtual reality demo. With the headset on and hand-held controllers, you can spacewalk over the Earth. Everyone who tried it started tentative, then were shortly wandering the room, lost in their own world.

For me (Chris) the first night of the new season at the camera club. A chance to meet members old and new and introduce the new programme for the winter and see a few images from the summer.
