2017 Tuesday -- Looking at the Sky

By the time I got out to the front porch, I think I had missed some of the vibrant hues that had been in the clouds. We had been sitting for several hours at our dining room table with the man who will soon be our next realtor.

I think we are learning, maybe understanding would be a better word, about the "game" of realty. Since the end of June, we have had our house listed high and everyone agrees that it ought to sell for the listed price.

The problem is that the other homes in the neighborhood are not of equal value to ours. We are a Porsche sitting on a lot with VWs. If the "comparables" in the neighborhood do not match, then the house won't appraise at our listing price and buyers would not be able to qualify for a loan.

So we are rethinking, have gone back to the drawing board, and will be lowering the price, and putting the house back on the market again in a few days.

Looking at the sun is a lot more fun!
