When Aileen Came To Play

Well it was certainly a Wild Wednesday in the early hours...! Not an Irma of course, but then America always does things bigger than us. Nevertheless, Aileen left a swathe of minor devastation across the village including our previously splendid sea of sunflowers, and also this lovely Ash tree.

Sadly this is one of the beautiful trees in an area threatened with development, and might have been a specimen landscape tree in an open green space amidst the brick and tile, should the developers succeed. Storms take no notice of Tree Preservation Orders...

I was directed at an interesting web site www.windy.com that's worth looking at. Not sure where it's generated from at the moment, but I love web sites like this, and the live 'aeroplanes in the air' site and the 'ships in the channel' site, and the real time electricity network statistics site... geek sites really. Fun.
