BANG

Well my find of yesterday lunchtime turned out to be a live mortar round, probably left over from training.

I met the police and 2 guys from Bomb Disposal this morning before work and led them to where I had found the shell. The army dug it out of the ground and carried it to a safe place for detonation.

They dug a hole and dropped placed it in. I was pleased to capture the moment of detonation, it was a very loud BANG.

The army were not keen to be photographed but you can see a few more pictures that I took here.
