Tenth Avenue Band
BAAFest backblip 3
Spent most of the day on the stall, but took time off to walk in to Bellingham to fetch provisions and, a little later, MrM went off for a while to explore some of the highways and byways nearby (mainly, I suspect, to look for red squirrels).
Liz and Martin had come for the afternoon and, while they played some Irish tunes with MrM, I snuck off for a while to the beer tent to listen to the Tenth Avenue Band - great fun! Like the other stallholders, we packed up our stall quite early, which was lucky - as we left, one of the organisers came in to warn us to vacate the marquee as quickly as possible. The wind had got up and was so strong that there was concern about its stability and safety! Thankfully, the wind died down later.
After we had eaten, MrM and I went over to see the rest of the acts. We were just in time to hear Wayward Jane's last number, then enjoyed Subwoofers (two very talented, young jazz musicians), Hareshaw Linn (a folk trio) and the Gerry Colvin Band (slightly mad, amazingly good and immensely entertaining). A great evening!
