Early bird beats the wind

We were off to Nelson again today, this time to shop which was just as well as it got me out early to a neighbours to get a quick blip before we went.
The magnolias seem to get better every year. Just masses of flowers on every tree.

We thought we would like a new dining table and chairs. We still have a formica table, would you believe, but the chrome is starting to peel off. We liked the look of some we saw but either the price more than we wanted to pay, too big, too small or impractical. So we were home before the rain and wind came with a vengeance this afternoon.

I am indexing local newspapers from 1973 and the first colour TV was set up in a shop window and getting its signal from Wellington. Seems like yesterday.
