Whyanhow

We're decorating the utility room.  Most of the wallpaper peeled off with negligible effort but seemed reluctant at the lower edge.  We found out why today - the wallpaper extends down behind the skirting board.  

This is the sort of Dell House discovery which fills my mind with questions liberally populated with the words why and how.

In a similar vein, the boot room wall had been plaster skimmed previously and they'd gone round a cupboard.  However, the plasterer had skimmed the loft hatch. Why?
