Minnesota Holiday ....
Day 6.
Today we joined the “Save the best for last” club!!!
Let me explain ….
As I mentioned on Saturday R & I have been to every state in the US except for two … Wisconsin and North Dakota. And as you know if you read that day's journal we were able to tick off Wisconsin! Well, today it was North Dakota! That means we have been to all 50 States!!
As for the “Save the best for last” Club …. Ironically R was online last night and found out that North Dakota is often the last state that people visit. Fargo, ND has come up with this club to celebrate this achievement! We were thrilled to learn that this existed … on the eve of our visit no less!
It was a long day spent in the car (3+ hours each way!) but it was worth it! When we got the Fargo/Moorhead Visitor's Center we mentioned that this was our last state in our 50 State goal and they got very excited for us! We were asked to sign their book with our details … name, address and how long it took us to get to all 50 States (33 years!). They then presented us with certificates, a club badge and a t-shirt and asked us to pose for a picture by their sign. We were more than willingly! And the lovely woman was more than willing to take pictures with all our cameras, too!
Both of the ladies at the visitor's center were so nice and super accommodating!
We stopped at a few places along the way back to our condo including Buffalo River State Park and along the roadway at Rock Lake so as to watch the sunset!
I have done a quick catch up on my vacation pictures thus far .... starting with Saturday. I'm sorry I can't add a link as I am posting this from the Android app! There are so good one's including me walking across the Mississippi River on Monday!
Backblipped: September 15, 2017
Note: December 31, 2017 .... I have added an extra of a collage with more pictures taken on this fabulous day! Including an eagle and a magpie that we encountered during a road construction stop. The magpie was pestering one of the road crew!
