Holt/Sheringham Forties Weekend

The weather was supposed to be horrid and wet this morning, so M and I didn’t dress up in our 1940’s outfits for the Holt/Sheringham 1940’s weekend.  Instead B and I walked into town dressed in all our waterproof clothes…and it didn’t rain, and the sun is out now….grrrr!!
You wait…when we are dressed up tomorrow it’ll probably be precipitating like mad.
We were walking back from town when we came across this group all looking rather splendid and they stopped outside the Barbers Shop Home Guard HQ, for a group photo…and they happily posed for us too. 

It’s great that so many of the shops and businesses in Holt and Sheringham take part in the event and dress their windows and many staff are dressed in period clothes too.  The extra is my favourite shop in town, this greengrocer is very traditional and had to do very little to make themselves fit into the 1940s.
