Scafell Pike via Corridor Route
Or to paraphrase the great Ian Dury:
Reasons to be Cheerful; Day 2.
A day of perfect mixed mountain weather, (warm in the sun cool in the breeze), a truly classic route, 360° views and some excellent company all added up to a fantabulous day.
The top of England was unsurprisingly busy, but we saw few people on our way up and found a lovely sheltered spot all to ourselves on the East face for lunch.
This will be my last day out in the hills before the op, and it was a real affirmation of how much I love what I do and why this operation with all its associated risk is a gamble worth taking. The sharp teeth gritting pain at the end of the day on the National Park's latest stone staircase down Grains Ghyll also reminded me why it's necessary too!
Bonus points for anyone who can name the main mountains in this view?
Centre -, Gable
Left with sun - Kirk Fell
Far left in shadow - Lingmell
