I was asked to do two tours at Speke Hall today as the other tour guide who normally comes in on a Saturday was poorly. Usually she does two tours and I do one in between. I like to do my one tour as I don't have any pressure to finish by a set time whereas if you are doing two you have to finish the first one in time to start the second one.
The other problem with doing two tours back to back is that sometimes you cannot remember whether you have said something to the second or the first group. It can all get a bit confusing.
It was my pleasure to show around two groups of lovely people and tell them a little of the history of the house and the estate and the stories of some of the people who lived there.
We had arranged to meet my daughter afterwards so NM joined me. While she was waiting for me to complete my tours she did a beautiful sketch of the south facade of the hall.
I could enter this blip in the Cultural Blip Hobby challenge as it represents something which I do in my spare time.
