Day 5
First shot of the day was the last one of the aurora series from yesterday (it crossed the midnight point).
Having spent too long on my feet with a heavy camera bag and my back letting me know all about it, I decided to have a quiet day to myself while everybody else headed out.
In the morning the cloud on the mountain gave a clue to the fact that the squalls were going to be smaller and less frequent.
So I had a gentle walk over the headland to Polin Beach.
The grass was wet and turned silver in the bright light and the contrast in the sand patterns was really nice.
The beach was deserted and I really enjoyed the peace and quiet - and the opportunity to take some more pictures for my "gates and posts" and "beach grass and plants projects.
When the clouds got heavy I headed back towards the cottage.
I didn't make it before it got wet - but it was more a really heavy drizzle than a rain.
I still got wet though.
So did all the woolly caterpillars.
