Beneath The Paper

Back to Miss Flum's house this afternoon. When stripping the wallpaper off the dining area one strip revealed a vertical series of double-ticks with an enigmatic mark, 2/11.
We have no idea what this represents - two shillings and eleven pence? November 2nd? The second paper strip in a set of eleven? we just hope that the proposed paint colour will cover it.
