Obedience by George Wylie

A Doors Open weekend visit to Cathcart Hebrew Cemetery.

A moving talk in the Prayer Hall by a lady recounting her mother's story. Her mother survived three death camps during WW2, due to her artistic skills. Some of her work is exhibited in Kelvingrove. "Gathering the Voices" exhibition was on display, stories of Scottish Jews who survived the Holocaust.

"Obedience", a sculpture by George Wylie at the front of the Hall. It reflects the artist's outrage at the Nazi obedience to evil, which transported millions of Jews to their deaths.

We also visited Pollokshaws Burgh Hall, and enjoyed hearing the colourful Wurlitzer cinema organ.
