Cygnet
We drove back to the Cape today from Boston, just in time for Tropical Storm Jose. This hurricane season has caused so much hardship in the southern US and Caribbean, and doesn't appear to be over. Our personal concern here will be the loss of electricity, far less severe than the damage that might occur elsewhere. I hope that all stay safe in the coming days.
The local wildlife must have found cover already, because the beaches and marshes were very quiet today. I did manage to find a family of Mute Swans. There were four adolescents. Although they were close to full size, their bills and feathers were gray, meaning they were less than one year old.
