A lazy Sunday for sea otters

We took advantage of the first sunny day in what seems like weeks and drove to Seward, which is on the other side of the Kenai Peninsula. Autumn yellow birches mixed with light green aspens and dark green spruces decorated mountainsides along the highway.
We enjoyed lunch (jalapeno/corn chowder, fish tacos and craft beer) and walked on the beach beside Resurrection Bay. People were fishing for (and catching!) silver salmon. Several sea otters were also taking advantage of the beautiful day - napping while floating lazily on their backs and  rolling around in the water.
