As the weather cools off, the time for Southern Comfort Food approaches. I always think of Mama when it comes time to make cornbread dressing. I hate to chop vegetables but she was pro with a knife! She would sit at the table and chop the celery, onion, etc, while I cooked the cornbread, made the broth, and bustled around getting every prepared. We would laugh and squabble and banter about. I'd
scoop her up a big bowl of the raw dressing
And off she'd go. Oh how I miss her! I've had to chop my own onion since 2009. :-')
