15C sunny and breezy.
Maeve the Deerhound and I went for our walk after lunch. In the field just across the road from the side of our house the green tractor that was there yesterday has been parked in a corner overnight. A very tempting thing to park a tractor near a blipper's house :-)
Very quiet on our walk today as we went up by the church and then into the field and down towards the shore. On the cycle path we saw three ladies and a spaniel walking along. They went through the gate, past the sheep, over the level crossing, and on to the beach. Maeve and I followed behind and one of the ladies stopped for a minute and spoke to Maeve and I as we caught up. They set off along the beach and the spaniel splashed in the sea. Maeve and I plodded along behind through all the big stones and seaweed that the storm left on the sand.
At the Fishermen's huts there were quite a few people about. Three or four cars were parked beside the boats and tractors. Lots of tidying and washing of boats and fishing gear going on. The end hut was having the whole front wall replaced. Maeve and I just wandered through. Too busy for our liking.
The people that have the first cottage we pass when we leave the huts were in their garden. The lady said hello and we had a chat across the hedge. The man came up from the bottom of the garden to say hello to Maeve. He likes to see her and always stops to make a fuss of her. The lady was putting poppy seeds (purple flowers) into little brown envelopes for her friends and was kind enough to give me one so we can have some in our garden.
Earlier Maeve had her Saturday corner of croissant and later there was an Empire biscuit :-)
Update: I forgot to mention that just as Maeve and I turned into the road beside our house on the way home we saw two horses being ridden down the road, and as chance would have it we saw them leave several piles of manure on the road. Not being slow about these things I quickly took Maeve home and grabbed a plastic trug, my gardening gloves, and a spade, and went out and collected the manure. It went straight into one of my big compost bins. Bonus !
