Vaccinate

Nice day at nursery today involving playing outside and music class. Then we went to Inverleith Park for a bit on the way down to Stockbridge.

This was because CyclopsJnr had his vaccinations.  Eep.  The first in two years, so the first when he understands what is happening. We had prepared by watching a video on Youtube about some muppets getting their injections, and we practiced with CyclopsJnr’s doctor kit which we also took along with us.  CyclopsJnr understood that it would hurt a bit and that he would say ‘ow’ but that it would be quick and he’d get a plaster.  So it was two needles in the thigh (DTaP/IPV and MMR boosters) and he was great about it.  A small precautionary ‘yow’ noise, but as soon as he realised that was it done he was quite happy.  The nurse was super kind, and after the jabs she said he had been very brave and gave him a sticker of his choice (a car).  She said it was her turn now and asked CyclopsJnr to give her a jab with his doctor kit, and she let him give her a plaster and a sticker.  She was really sweet.  Afterwards CyclopsJnr has been pleased with his plasters and asking where the holes have gone and saying it doesn’t hurt any more.
