I was looking...
...through an old diary today...
...and I found this entry...I met this guy in a cemetery and talked with him...and so I thought for my picture for today would be illustrating this scene, and trying out a new drawing stroke in the app. This is my first try with this drawing stroke and I enjoyed doing it. There is still room for a lot of improvement, but it has potential...
"Diary...4th July 2013...
Met an older guy in a cemetery today. He'd married late in life, met his wife in a tearoom, went on to have 12 happy years.
Too old to have children, she got 3 teddy bears, said they were their children and they talked to the 'children' every night.
It did take him a little while to be comfortable talking to the teddy bears. Then she died of cancer.
He now visits the cemetery daily with the 'children' and he sits the bears on her grave and he sits down too and has a conversation with them all.
On his bike were panniers for each of the 3 'children'....the whole thing was actually very sweet. It reminded me of when John bought me a realistic furry badger.
John named it Beowulf, and I carried Beowulf on my backpack like a baby carrier....it did disconcert people...and I got...a lot of questions...John died and now Beowulf has a place on my bed."
