King of Apples

The one thing I look forward to at end the of summer, is the English COX apple. I love them fresh off the tree when they are still 'tart'. Forget peaches, strawberries - fed up with them now (although levellers - when you can find them - and French greengages are another matter). This and the Bramley (cooking apple) are my absolute favourites.

And I was over the moon yesterday to find the fruit and veg stand in the Square had them. I have been checking all over for the last 2 days.

I planted a miniature Cox Orange Pippin in the garden before we moved down here, and in its second year it was laden with the most wonderful apple. I wonder how it's doing now?
