Leonoids

I took the photography group to a farm  near Peaslake to see if we could capture the Leonoid meteors. We had a fantastic evening with mixed results.

A couple of attendees have also had experience with light painting and night photography and together we tutored those who had none at all.
We met in a local pub and over a drink and a slice of pizza we found all the settings on the various cameras.  I know my canon but every camera is infuriatingly different, more so when you have at least ten to work through.

I left my camera up behind a barn on a timer for star trails so I had time to support the lesser experienced.  The trail did come out  well but prefer this image,
Much of the evening was spent chatting, whilst lying flat out on the hay bales, looking up to the sky. There were plenty of meteors but few on camera. Instead, the paths of the planes circling, taking off and landing at both Gatwick and Heathrow were evident in almost all the images.

Another year we will go to a more remote location as this was such good fun.
