Where is everyone?

I can't usually cross Kildare Street on the first attempt, it's normally busier than this in the middle of a Wednesday, especially when the Dáil (Irish Parliament) is sitting - where is everyone? Is there nothing to protest about?

For those who don't know it, the trees on the right of this picture are just inside the gates of the Dáil, and the bit of street looking so empty is where protesters normally gather when they want to get the politicians' attention.
