A walking tale
On Mr P's list of to do items before we leave the South East is to walk the North Downs Way. Its 125 miles altogether, he reckons he can do 30 miles a day in 2 day bites. He got the train to Dover very early this morning and booked a room in the Bowl Inn just north of Charing. I arrived at the Bowl Inn at 5:00pm after doing various jobs that involved driving on motorways for about 4 hours and was desperate for a walk. Established that Mr P was at least 90 mins away so set off across the fields to look for a few geocaches. This shot was taken on my walk.
Safely collected Mr P from Charing at 6:30 ( having done 30 miles and 2000' of climb) -- fast forward to 8:30 - dinner in the pub- after delicious food and pints of local beer - Mr P faints. Got him to bed with his feet higher than his head and colour eventually returned. Is he going to carry on walking tomorrow ? - he says he will see how he feels in the morning........
