Barn Owls

It has been a fantastic day today! We met two rescued Barn Owls, Dotty and Barney, who allowed us to stroke them and hold them. I spent a good hour or so holding Dotty close, she snuggled up to her new warm 'tree' and I'm now incredibly smitten :)

The children then dissected owl pellets under the superb direction of the Derbyshire a Wildlife Trust. What a fabulous activity, they learnt soooo much.

I then spent the afternoon drawing barn owls using oil pastels and black card, with about 18 children. The results were immense as they remembered all the details off the owl feathers etc from earlier. Blip is my effort :/
