Heavens above

The ceiling in the main hall of the very impressive Mount Stuart, built and maintained by the Marquises of Bute. The floor and pillars are of marble with intriguing carvings, then the windows depict the four seasons in different colours and showing the zodiac signs, then the domed ceiling shows the constellations and stars. A good day to get out of the pouring rain and have an excellent cultural tour!
