Fort Macon Beach

I was the first up of all my buddies today, and had an awesome time greeting the day alone on the deck with a cup of coffee. The peace and quiet here is amazing!
In the afternoon we had a tour of Fort Macon, first built after the War of 1812 to defend the coast, and last used in WWII to house the soldiers keeping the German U boats at bay. Now it part of a state park. Such history there!
After that we went to Ft Macon beach to dip our toes in the Atlantic. Bliss!
