Drenched and dripping squash blossom
Sue flew off to a painting workshop in Montana Tuesday morning, and although today is Seth's birthday, he left this morning to go back to work on the road, so we celebrated his birthday Tuesday night. The rains have come; forest fires are calming. We grieve for those in Mexico who have lost loved ones and homes to earthquakes and now a Popocatépetl eruption; for those in the Caribbean who are devastated by hurricanes; and for those in Japan who fear a tsunami and more troubles from Fukushima after today's earthquake out to sea. I wonder what's happening in Catalonia; it sounds ominous. This quiet little image, then, not like me at all. A moment of stillness between the storms.
