Where did the footpath go?

The robin is looking as confused as we were.
Is this a footpath, or an ex-footpath.?
Or is it just that someone doesn't want walkers across their land?
I went into Axminster this morning, and the weekly market was on. What a great little market it is too. I didn't see any "tat". There was fruit and veg, meat, fish, cheeses, eggs, bread, pies, cakes, plants, and a fabric stall. Sadly I had forgotten my camera, but it looked quite splendid.
