Awfully flat . . .
Back blip
No, not Norfolk, but Lincolnshire. Amazing to see such a very different type of shoreline and seascape. Acres of mudflats, with drainage dykes, being grazed by cattle, and hunted by wildfowlers. There seems to be an awful lot of shooting of birds in this area.
We had driven down through Castle Howard land, through monumental gates and round obelisks in the middle of the road. An attractive, but busy part of the country, and getting busier the further south we come.
Parking in Lincoln was very tricky, but we found a spot not that far from the cathedral and went for an explore. Huge and very impressive, with lovely stained glass and plenty of information on hand. So much more pleasant having explanatory boards and notices, rather than having to go round with a tour. Nobody else seemed to be taking photos inside, so I kept my camera in my bag.
Ended up near Kings Lynn for the night, on the edge of the marshes, after passing endless fields of brassicas! Tonight's late night snack was fruit cake and whisky . . . !
