I had to come in to the office today to drop some things off and take some faculty portraits. Got to meet a professor for the first time--we really clicked and he was a great pleasure to talk to. And he's the snappiest dresser in the department, so his portrait should come out quite well!

Afterwards, Tiger, Edward, and I headed over across the street from campus to Dave's pad. We jammed out with acoustic guitars and harmonicas. Dave is in our program but writing his dissertation right now--he seems so far away from where I am at the moment. But his office is down the hall from mine and he teaches on the same days that I do, so we run into each other quite frequently in the mornings this semester. We've been trying to get together for a while now to noodle around on our instruments (that sounds dirty); today we finally got our chance. Had some beers and played some music. Always good times to be had in that department.

Later, Edward and I headed back to Fort Worth and met up with Nicole, Kathryn, and Leah and rode the Critical Mass ride tonight (it was Leah's first time back on the bike in months!). Beautiful, beautiful fall evening, riding through a light sprinkle. Ended up at the ole' TP for a few beers before blasting back down Lancaster to home and showers and bed.

Long day but full of many good things and many good people. Cheers all.
