An afternoon with Dave, Mrs D & Molly
This afternoon we had the pleasure of spending a couple of hours with our dear friends, Dave, Mrs D and of course Molly. We had a very enjoyable time together but as always the minutes went by very quickly. It was nice to see them once again and to experience for the first time the opening and closing of the now famous electric gates! We had a nice little walk around his garden shed and garage ( I wish mine were as organised and as tidy as his) and he was kind enough to pass us some of his homemade compost (5 bags of the stuff) as well as a bag of special compost containing dead leaves. He also gave us a couple of red hot pocker plants which I hope to plant tomorrow if possible. As he mentioned in his blip earlier today, he has also given us his old printer and a couple more home made bird & insect boxes (or as he prefers to call them.... "hotels"). So once again we did not leave him empty handed! He is always so generous and I really appreciate his warm heart. I made my first banana & walnut loaf before going so that I could take it with me, which I did. It was a little over cooked, but Molly really appreciated it and couldn't stop thanking me, as my photo for today clearly shows! Fortunately Mrs D had also prepared a lovely plum cake, far better than my loaf, and both went down with a lovely mug of Dave's special brew (coffee that is). Unfortunately we had to leave sooner than we would have liked (lucky for them) because we were expected once again at the old people's home. We spent an hour or so with the elderly lady (whom I will hereafter refer to by her first name " Annick") with a promise to return once again tomorrow afternoon. I am going to the market in Gisors tomorrow morning for a couple of hours so an early start is on the cards as I must be there by 7am. In conclusion I would like to thank Dave, his wife and Molly for a lovely afternoon once again, and we are looking forward to seeing them again soon. Dave spent quite a while with me patiently trying to explain lots of tricks and apps for my iPad and I am very grateful to him even though I fear I have already forgotten most of what he said.... sorry Dave! Take care all of you, thank you once again for your following and have a nice day/evening.
