.....Being Queen

Today I went to Osborne house
I love this place, I love everything about it, the rooms, the gardens, the beach, the fact Queen Victoria herself spent many happy years here
I love how this was the family seaside retreat of Victoria and Albert, a place they could get away from being mobbed, a place where her children could run and play and catch butterflies.

A Place she felt safe after Alberts death

I took a lot of photos of various flowers today, but this one I thought captured the simpleness of Osborne house that she enjoyed.

Queen Victoria once wrote in her journal to her Daughter Victoria in 1858

"I long for our cheerful and un-palace like rooms at Osborne."

I think that says it all
