Autumn solstice
Nothing says autumn like the leaves changing colour and rutting stags! I drove through Bushy Park today and saw this big fella - those antlers must be so heavy, how he gets through the day without a headache is beyond me!
I thought I would share the saga of my hallway table, as it has been so frustrating. We ordered a new table to arrive when we moved in to the new house. It arrived - but was badly damaged. It was sent back and we had to wait another 4 weeks to get a replacement table. It was finally delivered - but was badly damaged. I hesitated to order a replacement table from this supplier again (a reputable London supplier) but thought, surely it could not happen a third time? It finally arrived...and was damaged. Very frustrated we told the decorator not to use that supplier again and ordered a different table from another source - it was due to be delivered today - but against all odds, there was a huge fire in a furniture warehouse in White Hart Lane two days ago and while this table was not near the source of the fire, it was next to the burning warehouse and the supplier thinks it may be water damaged from the fire fighters. One hundred and fifty small businesses have been affected by the fire and the supplier cannot check their stock as the police are not allowing access while they are investigating. Oh what a jinxed table!
Adam is back from skiing tomorrow but goes back to university on Sunday (some early supervisor meetings) and Gavin leaves for Australia on Sunday night - I can barely keep up with their comings and goings.
