Anne
Today we attended the funeral service of a friend of many years ago; Anne was a member of the group that the HG hostelled and hiked with when he was a teenager, and they were good friends.
Ann became a teacher, and taught for many years in a rural school in Glen Trool Village in the Galloway Forest. She was fond of Scottish Country Dancing and we all attended classes in Glasgow in the early sixties, and she taught it to her school classes too.
She suffered badly from arthritis for a long number of years and had other health problems, but coped well and led an interesting and useful life.
Several of her younger family members spoke at the service and it was obvious how much she was loved and admired by all.
We were glad to be able to pay our respects.
Extras: Anne as a young girl and the order of service.
