Last days of the sunflowers.

The sunflowers have been looking very sad for a while now, and today they got harvested. Two things happened. We were showered with lots of dust, and then a huge snake, four feet long, appeared behind the hen house. It was a couleuvre d'esculape, no idea what it's called in English but it can climb trees!!!
I don't think I can go into the chicken coop any more, ever. As for looking up into a tree, I'll be terrified of what is up there! There's just too much wildlife in France.
