Equinox

Crossing the line from
day to night
the light today
fought back.

Sun filled the air
caught silver trails
of snails and diamonds
of broken glass

and half-squashed berries
on the tarmac
laughing at the dark.
We glow, we stay.


Meanwhile Sonshine’s new(ish) band, The Swinghoppers, released their first EP today after a summer of festivals and a lot of hard work. I’m far too biased to know whether it’s good or bad but it makes me laugh and it will keep me going through the lessening of light.
