A Writer's Life

Naptime

When Oli was a baby, his naps were treated like something sacred: I wouldn't dare to move, I made sure he would wake on his own, etc. The thing with the second child is that it's just not possible. Henri will have to be awaken at some point in the day BECAUSE of his brother. It's either in the morning, when he has his first nap right when we leave for daycare, though I'm getting better at planning around that one. Or at the end of the day, because he likes to nap after 3:30, and tends to go on until 4:30 or 5. Case in point, today: he woke up, so I thought: perfect, we'll go pick Olivier up and then go to the park. I prepped Oli's snack, bottles of water, and came back to find Henri sleeping soundly. So I sat down and waited a bit.
