Aboriginal site

Today I went on a tour of some local Aboriginal sites with my archaeologist neighbour. We inspected rock art and carvings dating back 10,000 years or so - and all little more than a stone's throw from my home.

This photo is taken from a cave with rock carvings (there's one in the bottom left corner) in the area that was burned in a bush fire just over two years ago. The area abounds in fire-blackened trunks and new growth but we noticed that some native vegetation was so badly burned it has totally died - there is no sign of new growth sprouting at all.
