On the Common

It's been a lovely day. I popped up to Ideford Common this afternoon. It's lowland heath so lots of gorse, heather and the occasional pine and birch. As I returned I came on a couple of youngster roaring about on quad bikes which seemed surprising as it's a site of special scientific interest. There was an adult with them too but with the look of him I didn't think it wise to get into a discussion about it. I did report it to the ranger service when I got home though. I was quite pleased to get this sunburst in the tree.
