Our majestic friends

A midafternoon stroll around Bellingham's Lake Padden, with its beautifully dense foliage, is always an invigorating and inspiring treat, and today's walk lived up to those characteristics perfectly.

Remarkably, it has been many, many months since we visited this beautiful space, and how different it was today compared to our last visit during the peak of the warm and busy summer. The air and the light had taken on a distinctly autumnal quality with soft, earthy, muted colors, and a sense of calm and impending change in the air. There were few visitors present, making the quiet, and magnificence of the scenery, such as this majestic stand of trees, all the more intimate and embracing.

With a move into town looming on the horizon, I look forward to many more exploratory jaunts through this wonderful, local resource.
