Velo Birmingham

The event pretty much came to my doorstep so being a cyclist I should have entered, but with all the house renovation I've not done many big miles lately and I've not been into treble figure mileage in a long time.

I know there has been a lot of negative press over this event with all the road closures and people I know have been quite disrupted with work and a group struggling to get to a christening. I heard a wedding had to be cancelled at a venue near Half Penny airport too but it was great to see so many people enjoying the sport I've been doing since a very early age. There were also a lot of spectators on the course and I'm sure some businesses did very well.

Me and the old man had a good mountain bike ride too and we intermingled with the roadies on a couple of occasions.
