Community Fair
We were lucky enough to have sunny weather for the Community Fair today in the grounds of Wycombe Museum. Several different community groups had stalls there (MIND, OneCan Trust, Refugee Support groups), and there were also traditional amusements like the tombola, coconut shy, carousel and swings - and of course food was available. This stall was offering traditional Syrian food - freekeh, stuffed vine leaves, hummus, pickled vegetables, etc - served on a flatbread. By the time I left, they had one of the longest queues of any of the food vendors!
The guy serving the food is a recently-arrived Syrian who is now about to open his own restaurant, so a great success story.
