Day 61: Chesterfield, Chatsworth & Matlock (ag

First stop - Chesterfield. In theory to see the Church spire twisted by the devil himself (hmm) - but in actuality to buy a hot water bottle. Lovely British weather & van without heating. Sigh. Continued on to Chatsworth House - sex scandals ('The Duchess' was based on one of Duchesses of Devonshire who lived here), Pride & Prejudice (the Keira Knightley (sadly, not the BBC) version was filmed here), and a plethora of tea rooms. Even the rain, children and wasps couldn't upset me. Well, they still did, but perhaps not as much as they normally do. Finished the evening at Matlock Bath Illuminations (a strange but endearing 100+ year old tradition).
