Let Go
For reasons that are a mish of round-to-it'ness, maybe-it-has-value'ness, and the memory of this being Dad's favourite kite, this box kite has been lurking in lofts and basements for more years than is remotely sensible. On the extraordinarily rare kite-flying opportunities there have been other kites to fly first.
A cursory and largely disinterested check on eBay indicates there's not even a category for 1970's kites, so it's on to the charity shop pile. I hope the new owner will enjoy it (and has strong hands - it has quite a pull).
The emergence of the kite relates to a day of sorting the semi-decorated utility room and basement, rationalising what's kept where. Mess is now only kept in the basement it would seem.
