Feeling Smug

Had a good morning in the garden before the rain came.

Cut down this years brambles, which have flowered and produced fruit, and took them to the tip.

Tied this year's new growth to the fence. Best thing about them is they don't have thorns. They don't look much but will grow side shoots next spring which will flower and produce next year's crop.

Then added a layer of mulch from our own compost bin, so not cost a thing. Always satisfying.

In the picture you you can also see two blackcurrent bushes. It is lovely to pick fruit from your own garden.
