For repair

Digital Dan the silicon helmsman threw a wobbly on Sunday. As soon as I put it on auto it started chasing its tail and going exactly opposite direction to that required. Tried several times, restarted but no good, then it suddenly retracted fully, stalled the motor followed by a graunching noise and then the whirr of the motor going round doing nothing.
Even when we sail with two of us we still use it and when single handed it is an absolute boon, so yesterday went online, raised Raymarine and found they do a fixed price repair. Checked by phone and yes that!s right, even arrange the pick up by UPS. So it goes tomorrow down to Fareham.
